"Hnn... I'll protect the Princess with my life!" declared Cassy while putting her silver sword in garde.
"Awww, Cassy-chan!!! Cho kakkoi!!!" giggled Fuu while glomping on her friends with a warm grin.
"Hahaha!!! Cassy-chan, you're really amazing in that role!" laughed Marco at seeing the two girls huggling each other.
"You're so good-looking!!! It's amazing!" complimented Fuu while admiring once more her friend in the handsome prince outfit they had found in the loot of one of their recent 'catch'.
"Hnnn, thanks Fuu-san, but the princess dress is even more beautiful!" answered Cassy in a smile, "And you even grew your hair longer!"
"But the dress is so heavy..." sighed Fuu while lifting slightly the huge gown they had found in the same chest as the prince uniform.
And I'm resuming my normal haircut after the show! I'm not a manga character who can have long flowy hair without getting a single knot into it, you know, sigh..."Yeah yeah yeah... You both look wonderful, we know it!" laughed Marco while coming to grab the two girls by the shoulders in a conniving way, "So now, how about showing us what you're worth on stage? It's not every night we're preparing a play, after all!"
"True, hihihi..." laughed Fuu at remembering the faces everyone had made when Cassy had proposed to dress up with the clothes found in the loot and make a full play out of it.
"But it's so fun, hnnn..." grinned Cassy with her usual everlasting enthusiasm.
"Sure, sure..." answered Marco with a cunning look for some of the other participants to the play, "At least for the ones who got a nice role when drawing lots, heehee..."
Quite true... thought Fuu while admiring some other WhiteBeard's Pirates who were now dressed up as the maids, the nanny or even some rocks and trees.
"Hnnn, but Marco-san, it's really a shame you're not participating..." sulked Cassy while puffing her cheeks in a sulking expression.
"Oy, come on, you always need people to do the handy work backstage, don't you?" smiled Marco, before glancing back at a shadow who was sulking at the other hand of the room, "I'm not like SOMEONE who's still brooding because he didn't get the role of the Prince, heehee..."
And Cassy and Fuu followed Marco's gaze until ending up on the silhouette of a certain Second Division Commander who was looking into emptiness with a pose radiating of regrets and dark will-o-the-wisps floating around him.
"Oy Ace!" called Marco with an half-amused half-serious expression, "If you keep on being like that, Cassy-chan is going to feel bad about having drawn the Prince's role! So quit nagging and come here, we need to set up the stage!"
He's right! I really don't understand Ace on this one... thought Fuu with a perplexed expression,
Why is he still sulking over that?! I mean, of course everyone would prefer to have the main role, and I've been quite lucky to pull out the 'Princess' paper out of the bag on the first draw, but moping over it like that just because he couldn't be the hero is really childish, grr...From the corner, Ace raised his eyes and gazed at Fuu in her princess dress for a few seconds - pausing on her laced skirt and on the jewels in her hair while letting his thoughts wander - and finally heaved a deep sigh before resuming his sulking pose.
"But what's his problem?" wondered Fuu with an annoyed tone at seeing Ace's reaction.
"Hnn, Marco-san..." murmured Cassy at WhiteBeard's First Commander's ear, "It is really that bad that I am the Prince?"
"Heehee... Don't worry about that, Cassy-chan!" comforted Marco with a smile, "I'm sure Ace is more than happy that the role went to you and not to some other guy... because for sure, he wouldn't have let HIS princess to anyone else..."
